Not long after the turn of the millennium, Matthew Milia began to write songs about his suburban world of Metro Detroit. These are the first records of him discovering his voice, his language, and the magic of building one's own little mythology/self-contained universe in which to reside. Most of this stuff was recorded on clunky desktop computers in either his childhood bedroom near Sylvan Lake or in various dorm rooms at Michigan State University.
